Gear Avoidance Syndrome: It Might be Healthy for Your Photography.
Do you suffer from Gear Acquisition Syndrome? I’ll confess: at one time I had a tinge of it. I spent the bulk of my 365 project shooting with an eight year old DSLR. Its ISO capabilities were extraordinarily limiting for me. I wanted a new DSLR so badly I could taste it. But, that old camera forced me to learn how to shoot around its limitations, frustrating me to no avail but keeping me outside of my comfort zone. And there’s undoubtably something to be said for the teaching power of situations that force you into ingenuity.
