Day 322: Gladiola
When I purchased my new LumoPro flash a few days ago, I also picked up a Honl 1/8 grid. I’ve been eager to give it a try, so decided to play with it tonight. The light specs below are in relation to the subject, but I shot the subject at an angle. The stem was vertical, but I rotated the camera to play with composition. I really liked how the grid brightened the edges of the flowers and backlit them a bit for extra detail. The Honl grid may just become my new favorite tool, as I’m a big fan of dramatic light and it gives me a little more light throw than my snoot.
