Day 310: Cicada

24/30 of Deconstructed

This deconstruction project has brought to mind studying a smidge of entomology in high school and being required to catch, euthanize, and pin various insects we found over a period of time, name them and label them for a class project. I didn’t necessarily want to catch and kill any insects for the deconstruction project, let alone dismember them, but I happened upon this lovely creature this morning while taking my oldest to soccer camp. He was already dead and such a terrific specimen. I couldn’t resist scooping him up and featuring him in today’s shot.
