Day 251: Slide
Three words: instrument, petting, zoo. We were at the Kennedy Center today, enjoying one of the awesome NSO Family Concerts. If you have kids, are in the DC area, and haven’t checked them out, shame on you. Before the performance, the NSO allows kids to “pet” a variety of the instruments they’ll see on stage, which is something the kids really enjoy. Today’s shot is of my youngest trying out the slide trombone. She couldn’t get it to blow, though she’d just scared herself by blowing a loud *honk* from a sax. I think she was just being cautious with the slide. At any rate, I isolated her, the slide, and the assistant in editing here, as the background for the shot wasn’t great. I also got fancy by using my on-camera flash while in full manual for the first time ever. I know; I was feeling crazy.
