Day 119: Shining Stars

Mmm, gummy stars…pink ones. They stack nicely and are pretty in the light. I had assistance today from my oldest daughter. She held a piece of two-sided poster board and the flash behind it. The poster board was green on the side facing the camera, red on the other. We shot the flash bare, directly through the board (aimed at the back of the stars), which gave the background an unexpectedly gold and mottled look. We thought that was kind of cool. A few feet behind the poster is a large window that was getting direct sun, which is the light on the stars. We positioned the poster board just high enough in the frame to fill the background but not block the sun.
