Day 61: “So few want to be rebels anymore.”

This is shot no. 9 in the Literary Series. Today’s shot was inspired by Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451, the temperature at which book paper catches fire and burns, don’t you know. I loved this book as a kid and still do today, mostly because of its outrageous “reality” and clever delivery. One of my favorite quotes from the book, aside from the one I used to title the shot: “A book is a loaded gun in the house next door. Burn it. Take the shot from the weapon. Breach man’s mind. Who knows who might be the target of the well-read man?” Here’s a link to the full text if you’re interested in reading it:  http://hrsbstaff.ednet.ns.ca/ssheehan/English%2011/Bradbury,%20Ray%20-%20Fahrenheit%20451.txt

  1. “As good almost kill a man as kill a good book, who kills a man kills a reasonable creature, God’s image; but he who destroys a good book kills reason itself.” – Milton

Good picture (fire can be tricky).
