Day 35: “I’m sorry; you are too fat for this scale.”

365-Day 35, a photo by t.goff on Flickr.

This is shot no. 15 in the Fear Series. Today’s shot pertains to a fear many of us face…the dreaded scale. Are we ever truly happy with the number that pops up? I’m usually either “okay” with it or loathe it. Lately there’s a lot of loathing going on, particularly as I’ve noticed that photography makes you fat….or is that 365 photo projects? Never matter.

Shot Specs:
1/6 sec @ f/5, 27mm, ISO 100, Canon 480EX II @ 1/16 with flashbender, Hytec LED desk lamp

How I did it: My strobe is perpendicular to the front right edge of the scale, just out of the frame. It is pointed at the ceiling with the flashbender bouncing light toward my feet/the scale. I held the desklamp about 5 feet above my feet and pointed it straight down for even light.
